4-H BC offers a variety of scholarships to support members in pursuing their post-secondary education. These scholarships recognize leadership, dedication, and achievements in 4-H, providing financial assistance for studies in agriculture, science, business, and more.

  • BC Youth in Agriculture Foundation Scholarship

    The BC Youth in Agriculture Foundation was originally set up by George Norgan in 1959 and until 2004 was called the Norgan Foundation. The BCYA Committee is made up of members from both the Agriculture community and staff of the PNE who work together to facilitate the foundation. The board of BCYA feels strongly about supporting programs to enhance options available to youth who choose to pursue education or careers in Agriculture. 

    Number of Awards: Two

    Value: $2,000

    Field of Study: Any

    School Type: University

    Priority given to active participants of 4-H BC Program both at the club and district level as well as showing a commitment to participating in 4-H BC Provincial Programs.

  • Saanich Fruit Growers' Association Scholarship

    The Saanich Fruit Growers Association was established on the Saanich Peninsula to market and assist growers of Strawberries, Logan Berries and Raspberries. This Scholarship aims to encourage continued studies relating to agriculture or associated careers.

    Number of Awards: Two-Three

    Value: Up to a Maximum of $2,000 each

    Field of Study: Any

    School Type: University, Technical/Vocational, or Trade

    Priority will be given to students enrolled in an agriculture program.

  • Nancy Loreth Memorial Scholarship

    Nancy Loreth was extremely dedicated to 4-H, Farmers Institutes & BC Fairs. She donated countless hours of volunteer time, and was loved and respected by many.

    Number of Awards: One

    Value: $500

    Field of Study: Any

    School Type: University, Technical/Vocational, or Trade

    Priority given to applicants with a farming background enrolling in an agricultural program.

    Priority Based on location will be given in the following order:

    - Prince George District 4-H members
    -Central Interior Region 4-H members -Yellowhead West Region 4-H members

    Members from all other 4-H BC Districts and 4-H BC Regions.

  • Annie Zylman Agricultural Memorial Fund

    Number of Awards: One

    Value: $1,250

    Field of Study: Any

    School Type: University, Technical/Vocational, or Trade

  • Richard Fatt Memorial Scholarship

    The Richard and Phyllis Fatt family and their extended family are a fourth generation farm family in Saanich BC and long time supporters of 4-H. This scholarship aims to encourage continued studies relating to agriculture or associated careers.

    Number of Awards: Two

    Value: Up to a maximum $4,000 each.

    Field of Study: Any Field of Agriculture

    School Type: University, Technical/Vocational, or Trade

    Priority will be given to first-time applicants planning to take a full-time course load annually and enrolling in an agriculture program, followed by applicants taking educational training in support of agriculture.

    Priority based on location will be given in the following order:

    -South Malahat District 4-H members

    -Vancouver Island Region 4-H members

    Members from all other 4-H BC Districts and 4-H BC Regions

  • Wim Zylman Agricultural Memorial Fund

    Number of Awards: One

    Value: $1,250

    Field of Study: Agriculture Diploma Program

    School Type: University, Technical/Vocational, or Trade

  • Chernoff Family Foundation Scholarships

    Number of Awards: 3

    Value: $10,000 (Split between 2 years)

    Field of Study: Any

    School Type: University

    Other Criteria: At least 2 years of consecutive study is required.

  • Deep Creek Dairy 4-H Alumni Scholarship

    A generous donation was made on behalf of Deep Creek Dairy Alumni members to establish this Annual Scholarship.

    Number of Awards: One

    Value: $1,000

    Field of Study: Any

    School Type: University, Technical/Vocational, or Trade

    Priority given to first-time applicants with a farming background enrolled in an agricultural program.

    Priority based on location will be given in the following order:

    (1) Deep Creek 4-H Club members

    (2) Salmon Arm 4-H District members

    (3) Kamloops-Okanagan 4-H Region members

    (4) Members from all other 4-H BC Districts and 4-H BC Regions

  • 4-H British Columbia Foundation Scholarship

    Started in 1979 , the 4-H BC Foundation serves as the investment arm of 4-H BC. This non- profit organization provides an opportunity for interested individuals, 4-H Alumni, organizations and companies to contribute financially to 4-H British Columbia.

    Number of Awards: One

    Value: $1,000

  • Aubrey & Barabra Searle 4-H Scholarship

    Aubrey Searle, as a past B.C. 4-H Foundation Trustee, past President, and a long standing supporter of 4-H youth, has established this scholarship for the benefit of 4-H members taking post-secondary education.

    Number of Awards: One

    Value: $1,200

    Field of Study: Trades, technical or diploma courses in any field of study

    School Type: University, Technical/Vocational, or Trade

    Priority given to applicants planning to take a full-time course load annually.

  • BC Agriculture in the Classroom Foundation Teacher Scholarship

    BC Agriculture in the Classroom Foundation (BCAITC) is a non-profit, charitable organization that works with educators to bring BC agriculture and food education to K-12 students throughout the province.

    BCAITC was founded in 1992 by a small group of farmers, teachers, and agriculture enthusiasts who had a passion for teaching about agriculture.

    Number of Awards: One

    Field of Study: Teacher Education Program

    • Has been a 4-H BC member within the last six years.

    • Is enrolled or planning to be enrolled in a university Teacher Education Program in BC.

    • Shows a strong interest in using agriculture to teach their chosen subjects or grade level(s).

  • Iris May (nee Fletcher) Wright Memorial Scholarship

    Iris (Fletcher) Wright was born on May 31, 1937, into a Cariboo ranching family. The eldest of nine children, she grew up working alongside her parents and later with her husband, Dave, and -- after his passing -- on her own, as they collectively raised beef cattle in the Cariboo for more than a century.

    A trailblazer in every sense, Iris was known for her grit, sharp wit, legendary stubborn streak, and unforgettable bone‑crushing hugs. Her unwavering work ethic shaped both the family ranch and the wider Cariboo ranching community.

    We are proud to honour her legacy by supporting a scholarship that helps another young person from the ranching community pursue education and training in agriculture—work Iris would have championed wholeheartedly.

    Priority given to an applicant with a Ranching background going into an Agricultural Program.

    In addition, priority is given:

    1. Central Interior Region members.
